The clinic utilizes in-house testing and out sources to various Canadian and US-based labs for advanced laboratory testing. Assessment and diagnostic testing are fundamental to the development of effective treatments for our patients.
- ABO Blood Typing
- Most patients do not know their blood type. This is an extremely important test for developing the diet that is genetically best for you. The concept of “Eating right for your blood type” is based on the research conducted by Peter D’Adamo, ND who claims people fare better when tailoring their diet to their specific blood type. At the clinic we determine your blood type and offer dietary suggestions that are right for your blood type. This test can be performed in less than 10 minutes.
- Oxidata™ Urine Test
- The Oxidata™ urine test is a marker of aging and degeneration in the body. Stress and a poor diet increase the level of free radicals in the body. Free radicals have been associated with diabetes, allergies, arthritis, elevated cholesterol, MS, Parkinson’s, lupus, heart disease and cancer.
- Allergy Testing
- Allergies are the most common cause of imbalances in the body. The clinic uses a comprehensive antibody assessment to test for the causes of immediate allergic reactions and the sources of delayed allergic reactions, those that happen over hours or days. The comprehensive antibody assessment identifies hypersensitivities to over 120 of the most commonly encountered types of food and environmental substances.
- Bone Density Testing
- Early detection of bone loss by measuring bone density leads to more effective intervention. The importance of these measures cannot be overstated, especially in women at high risk for osteoporosis. Women over the age of 25, with a family history of osteoporosis require baseline testing of bone health and should be followed up with regular urine tests. These tests measure the breakdown products of bone such as cross-linked N-telopeptide of type I collagen or deoxypyridinium.
- Calcium Urine Test
- Calcium is an essential mineral for many cellular functions, as well as for healthy bone development. This test looks at the levels of calcium in the urine and its significance. Moreover, this test can also be a possible indicator for parathyroid problems.
- Candida Testing
- Candida is a yeast or fungus that can cause a variety of systemic health concerns. The clinic utilizes stool analysis and/or blood analysis to determine levels and corresponding treatment plans.
- Cardiovascular Assessment
- Blood tests are performed using the clinic’s facilities and the resources of private labs. These tests provide a comprehensive assessment of a patient’s cardiovascular health.
- Chemstrip Urine Test
- This is a quick in-office dipstick test that measures 10 separate urine categories. This test is used for nutritional imbalances that can contribute to serious health problems including infection, tissue degeneration, liver disease, kidney disease, and diabetes. In addition to these tests, the color, clarity, and odor of the urine can give us important insights.
- Traditional Chinese Tongue and Pulse Assessment
- Pulse palpation and tongue inspection are two methods for determining the nature of an individual's health imbalances that have evolved over a period of several thousand years in China. Many important aspects of one's metabolism, circulatory system, digestive health etc. can be evaluated with these methods.
- Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis
- Stool analysis is useful in determining parasite, yeast infection, enzyme deficiencies, inflammatory bowel disease, and markers for colon cancer. Also, it is extensively used to develop treatments for diarrhea and constipation problems.
- Detoxification Profile
- These functional assessments provide a comprehensive profile of the body's detoxification capacity and potential susceptibility to oxidative damage and aging.
- Electrodermal Testing
- A non-invasive method of evaluating the condition of the body’s organs and systems by measuring electrical conductivity of corresponding points on the skin.
- Heavy Metal Analysis
- Toxic metals are dangerous pollutants to the human body. Toxic metals are linked to neurological diseases, fatigue, chronic infection, skin and digestive disorders. Human hair provides a reliable measure of heavy metal levels in the body.
- Male and Female Hormone Profiles
- Salivary samples are collected and analyzed for various hormones. Specialized testing is available for males, young cycling females, and post-menopausal women. Salivary samples are highly accurate and provide a more consistent reading of the hormone levels.
- Thyroid Assessment
- These tests provide a comprehensive assessment of a person’s thyroid function. Thyroid disorders can cause fatigue, weight gain, altered sleep, decreased memory and sex drive.
- Adrenal Stress Test
- This is a specialized urine test that measures the amount of chloride displaced in your urine. Excess chloride in the urine is a reliable measurement of adrenal stress. Adrenal stress contributes to many symptoms like fatigue and low energy.
- Malabsorption Urine Test
- This urine test allows for screening for the prescence of harmful anaerobic bacteria and bowel dysbiosis. Dysbiosis is a toxic condition caused by a decline in the population of beneficial digestive bacteria. This can lead to malabsorption, digestive disturbances, allergies and inflammatory symptoms.
- Saliva pH Test
- The saliva pH Test helps detect deep levels of physical and mental stress. When highly stressed, the body becomes acidic, which in turn displaces valuable alkaline minerals like calcium and magnesium. Thus, this is an excellent screening for mineral deficiency and overall stress of the body.
- Vitamin C Urine Test
- Vitamin C is crucial to the health of the immune system and connective tissue, and is a powerful anti-oxidant. Recent research has also placed vitamin C in the category of an anti-cancer nutrient. This urine test will accurately determine your vitamin C status.
- Hair Testing
- Hair analysis is a useful method to measure levels of heavy metals (mercury, lead, aluminum etc.), and mineral and trace elements (calcium, magnesium, selenium, etc.) in the human body. Mineral and trace elements are needed by the body in correct amounts and proportions for optimal body functioning. Taking mineral supplements (calcium, magnesium etc.) without knowing the exact internal levels can be harmful to the body.
